It appears that Frank McCourt has instructed Neddy Coletti to try to reconstruct the 2003 Red Sox in Dodger uniforms. We already have the manager, Grady Little, plus Derek Lowe and Bill Mueller. Now it looks Nomah is going to be a Dodger, too, at least for one year.

So now we have four shortstops, three of whom have been all-stars at the position. Nomar is apparently going to play first, which means Cesar Izturis won't even have second base as an option when he comes back, since Kent won't be moving to first. We still need an outfielder and a starter, although we now seem to have ample trade bait for teams looking for infielders.

Um, when with Izturis be back? July? I know somebody who happens to be in the market for a shortstop.

Not that we have any outfielders to trade (unless you want Alejandro Machado), but you might be able to get a relief arm. Okay, maybe Abe Alvarez and Cla Meredith. Maybe you should tell Ned not to trade with Boston at all.

I hear Matt Clement is available. :)

Actually, the other ex-Sox player on the team is an outfielder, Jose Cruz, Jr., although he barely counts. This is the most ex-Sox the Dodgers have had on the team at the same time since the thirties.

I wish McCourt could afford Manny.

I'm just happy they're not going to the Yankees. Although, I am very sorry to see Mueller go.
