For once I remembered that there's an astronomical event tonight, so I headed outside to watch the moon turn red. It's pretty neat looking, although not quite fully in the shadow yet. There are some low clouds moving in, but overhead was very clear. I grabbed my binoculars from out of the truck to take a closer look. Full moons are generally too bright to look at comfortably with binoculars, but this was pretty cool. The moon is in Leo, just below Regulus, and when I was figuring this out I realized there was an extra bright star in Leo, just to the left of the moon. Since bright stars just don't appear like that, it had to be a planet, so I took a look through the binoculars. Even with binoculars you can make out the fact that Saturn has rings. They make it look like the planet has ears. Mars is out tonight, too, the bright red dot above Orion.

I would've stayed out longer, but it's cold, and the clouds continue to roll in.
