Life Sucks

Managed to do 13.5 miles tonight, before the back tire got a flat. Fortunately I was only a half mile from home when it happened, so I walked it back. Don't think the rim was damaged, because I noticed it before it went completely flat. Will haul the wheel down to the basement later and fix it.

And that was just the capper on one of the most thoroughly suckalicious days ever. Take me now, Lord...

Feh. Feh on the suckaliciousness I say.

Sorry to hear it. Was hacking part of it?

Feh.

Only one hacking spell on the bike, which is better than it's been. I think the pollen is starting to let up some.

Computers got through the weekend unhacked, which is also good.

Only one hacking spell on the bike,

(I read way too much Harry Potter.)

Glad to hear the asthma's getting better! Mine's been acting up this summer too, which is weird because I haven't needed to use my inhaler in years. There's definitely something in the air that shouldn't be.

Perfect... The rubber lining on the wheel that prevents the spoke nuts from puncturing the inner tube is frelled and needs to be replaced. Bother.

In my experience, anybody who is doing serious bicycle-riding does a lot of tire and wheel repairs -- it really does seem to be par for the course. Buy tires in bulk and learn to do as many of your own repairs as you can...?

I already do those repairs myself, and I always have an extra tube with me when I ride, for just that reason. It's normally an easy fix. The problem I have right now is that besides the blown tube, the wheel's liner (a big rubber band that circles the wheel to keep the spoke nuts from puncturing the tube) also broke, and that is really unusual, and I need to buy a replacement liner, because otherwise the tube will just pop again.

Wow.

Tech issues galore. Ouch.

I'm sorry, hon. If there's anything I can do at all, let me know.

I will come and kill people for you if you need.

I feel very strongly that you should never have bad days. I will talk to someone about this. In the meantime, I hope your day today is better.
