Okay, I signed up. Peer pressure is a tough thing, and I cracked. Anyhow, this morning on my Friendster homepage there was this update:

First -- I couldn't remember my friendster password. .. since then it's been crashed.

For me, at least, it's just a new toy. I'll get bored with it any minute now. Everybody I add is already a friend, and it's not like I'm going to be sending messages to perfect strangers, even if they are friends of friends. I have a hard enough time getting up the courage to send emails to people who actually *are* my friends.

Well, yeah. The conversatoins on the forum part of it (last time I checked) were completely uninteresting. So, it was really all about seeing how many people were in your network not actually getting to know those people.

I sent an email to a perfect stranger this morning. ACK! it was perfectly harmless, just a comment on a comment on their page, but still.
