Okay, I've been looking at bikes on the web, and I really like this one Actually, I really like it's more expensive brothers, but what can you do? Even better, there's a dealer just down the street from where I work, so I can go look at it.

Watched Spirited Away tonight. Still love it. Lots of extras yet to explore on the DVD, too.

Obviously you don't want to splurge too bad. But you do bike a lot, and if there is a noticeable difference between the bottom-of-the-line and a more spiffy version, give spending more money a serious look -- because in the long run, if it's something you're going to benefit from (that makes it more of a pleasure, that makes it less likely to break, that simplifies repair or storage or transporting it), buying the cheapie version is a false economy.

That's just it, I don't know if there'll be a noticeable difference between that one, and this one (http://www.fujibikes.com/comfort/bike.asp?category_short_name=comfort&myArray=43,44,45,46,47,48,49,51,50,52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69&myArrayID=12). The more expensive one (for all practical purposes) gives me one more gear, but the spread of gear ratios from highest to lowest is exactly the same, i.e., it makes the jump from one gear to another slightly easier (eleven steps top to bottom instead of ten), but my lowest and highest gears will still be the same. It's three pounds lighter, but I think that difference would be more noticeable if I weighed 185 instead of 265. I do like the color better...
