So my yardwork plan for today was to a) start the lawnmower for the first time in six months, b) install a de-thatching blade on said lawnmower, and c) spread some weed and feed on the lawn. I was two for three. Starting the lawnmower took a half an hour, a new spark plug, and a lot of ether sprayed into the spark plug hole. Finally did get it going, which is good. Spread the fertilizer around, too, so maybe the grass will actually start to look green soon.

As to the other, it turns out that the phrase, "Fits most rotary lawnmowers," actually means, "Remember that twenty bucks you spent last summer? Kiss it goodbye." There is no way to attach the "universal" de-thatching blade safely to my fairly standard Craftsman mower. Rats.

My disappointment at that was tempered by the fact that my daffodils are blooming, and the tulips are getting close. Spring is here.
