Salon had this Reuters image on their front page this afternoon. It'd be beautiful if the event surrounding it wasn't so horrible.

That's dramatic and sobering.

My mind keeps trying to make it FX, or CGI, or something artificially created, and not part of something that's happening essentially down the road from me.

As I said to serenada, sobering was exactly the word I was looking for.

It's a dramatic and shudderingly sobering image--the sort of thing Cameron was going for in T2 when the playground swings were swaying in the atomic blast wave, and ablaze. This is even more chilling though, because it's real.
