Clouds...

Last evening I mentioned in an LJ comment to ww1614 how amazing the sky looked outside my window, and I decided to take a few pictures.


The neatest thing about these patterns wasn't captured. The high layer (the white clouds in the background) and the low layer (the enormous gray one at the bottom of the photos) were barely moving, while the middle layer (the pink ones) was streaking across the sky like a bat outta hell. Heck of a wind pattern there, Chauncey.

Oh, those pictures are gorgeous! And they may have failed to capture the wind, but they sure did manage to capture the different layers of the clouds, which I find as a very difficult thing to capture on a still picture, the feeling of looking at the sky.
