dxmachina1. What is the best dessert you've ever had?
Wow, I'm not sure I can pick one. For a restaurant dessert, I'll just mention the exquisite bread pudding souffle at Commander's Palace as being the first among equals. At home, probably my grandma's apple strudel or apricot kolachki.
2. Is there a dessert that just plain grosses you out?
Rice pudding. It's a texture thing, because I love tapioca pudding, which is very similar flavorwise. Also, I agree with whomever dissed raisins. They have no business being in desserts.
3. Straight out of the container or with lots of toppings .... tell us how you like your ice cream.
Straight out of the container, but I do like sundaes, shakes, and sodas, too. I'm very ecumenical when it comes to ice cream. Current favorite is Haagen Daz Dulce de Leche.
4. Cookie dough, brownie mix, cake batter or the finished products?
I love toll house cookie dough, and have not even bothered to bake cookies on at least one occasion. I love cleaning out the brownie batter bowl, but I like the finished brownies better. The last time I used real eggs to make brownies, I got salmonella poisoning from licking the spatula, so now I use pasteurized egg product.
5. You've just invented a great new dessert .... what's in it and what is it called?
Not sure what it is yet, but I envision chocolate mousse and lots of whipped cream being involved.
