Thister! Thister! Isn't this the most thcrumpthuous tholid-gold thing you ever thaw?

I got to admit that I felt just like Winthrop Paroo as I was taking the new keyboard out of the box. It's snazzy! There are more buttons and controls than there are on the control panel of a Cessna. You can split the keyboard between two tones, or layer tones on top of each other. The rhythms are better and the accompanying instrumentation is subtler than on the earlier keyboards. They dumped some of the less useful rhythms, and added a bunch of piano accompaniments, which are great. Some of the defaults seem odd, like the default tempo is very slow, especially considering how fast the default was on the old keyboards. There's a new chord system, in addition to the old one, which allows one to change the chord pattern being played by the accompaniment by playing a new chord anywhere on the keyboard, as opposed to just with the left hand. That's a little weird still.

There are more options than you can shake a really big stick at. It's actually a little intimidating. I mostly fooled around last night, trying only a couple of pieces. Mostly I was just trying the new rhythms one-by-one to see what they sounded like. Cool!

Despite that, I did get some writing done on the fic. Didn't do much else, though.
